Palestinian Ambassador Jawad Awad Presents Credentials to Chinese President

Beijing – Ambassador Jawad Awad, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the People's Republic of China, presented his credentials to President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China during an official ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. President Xi reaffirmed the continued support of the People's Republic of China for the State of Palestine. For his part, Ambassador Awad conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to the Chinese President and expressed Palestine’s appreciation for the steadfast positions consistently demonstrated by the People's Republic of China regarding the Palestinian cause and the legitimate, inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. Ambassador Awad also commended China’s ongoing support for efforts aimed at realizing an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He emphasized Palestine’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the State of Palestine and the People's Republic of China across all levels.
